Skopje, 21 September 2014 (MIA) – Mavrovo Reka Mountain Pasture Cheese, Bukovo Red Peppers, Valandovo Wild Fig Preserve are some of the Macedonian products which will be exhibited at the International Fair of Traditional Food Products – Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre 2014 held from October 23-27 in Turin, Italy.
Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre 2014 will be held from October 23-27 in Turin’s trade fair Centre Lingotto Fiere and see the presence of over 1000 exhibitors from 130 countries, including over 300 Slow Food Presidia, chefs, farmers, fishers, academics, artisans, representatives from the worlds of wine and gastronomy, and the Terra Madre food communities.
Salone will have a specific space dedicated to the Ark of Taste to tell the individual stories of these quality productions that belong to the cultures, history and traditions of the entire planet and explain their real, commonly overseen value.
Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre will offer the possibility to learn more about this project during conferences or through firsthand reports from the delegates working on the gardens project on the ground. A new arrival at this year’s event, the Cooking School, is an evolution of Taste Education, Slow Food’s approach to food education.
Slow Food Macedonia organises the participation of Macedonian delegation at the fair which promotes sustainable agriculture, protects the environment and defends food biodiversity.
Slow Food Macedonia is part of global network Slow Food International whose founder is Carlo Petrini. The Slow Food International supports small-scale food producers and values their traditional knowledge and runs projects around the world in support of Terra Madre communities: the Ark of Taste, the Presidia, the Earth Markets and the Thousand Gardens in Africa. sk/12:58
